Which at the time was rather unusual, since what took TWI 2 years before now took less than 2 months. We also got 2 new bosses in just a couple of months, as in, the boss count doubled. Then TWI released the 2017 Halloween Horrors update, and then also the 2017 Twisted Christmas update. The state of the game was really healthy at this point, and the community was thriving. Since I also happen to be a Linux Server veteran and a graphomaniac, then I went as far as to compile a complete guide and an automated installer so that others could follow suit, because I believed everyone deserves to experience KF2 the way we did. We hung out regularly on my own server, which was great because I could get any custom maps, and we decided who stays and who has to leave if refuses to cooperate, as is necessary in a coop game. Then we came full circle because I convinced my friends to get KF2. I became a regular somewhere between the 2017 Summer Sideshow and the 2017 Halloween Horrors. Then KF2 was on sale so I gave it a try as well, and for whatever reason it was way more entertaining to me. I can’t really put my finger on it, I simply feel that while KF1 is way scarier than KF2, it’s just not very enjoyable as a game. The Humble Store even offered it for free at the time, so I did just that. I did so because I had a couple of friends who were playing KF1 for quite some time, and they convinced me to give it a try. Let’s start with who I am in regards to KF2: I bought the game in the summer of 2017 and started playing regularly in the autumn of the same year. Firebug and Survivalist are kings of crowd control, but lose out in raw killing power when stacked against the might of Support and Demolitions. There's few better ways to spend a weekend than wading through guts on KF, and now you'll be rewarded handsomely for it.Īlthough Killing Floor really shines with other survivors at your back, some perks are just too difficult to level with six players mucking about. In addition to increasing the drop rates for cosmetic items, these events double all gained experience. Tripwire has been kind enough to give us frequent reprieves in the form of weekend events, usually coinciding with major updates. Multipliers speed things up considerably. If you find yourself with some downtime during a wave, consider pursuing these objectives and watch your level soar. Every perk has different objectives, and some don't involve damage at all. Commando gains extra experience by killing Stalkers, a Zed that they directly counter with the “Call Out” ability. These bonuses are listed as “XP Objectives” in the perk menu. Perks level in two major ways: Zed kills and bonuses. Killing Floor's perks are a unique lot, and with the exception of SWAT/Commando, there's very little overlap. These perks wreak havoc on the Zed masses, assuming your squad mates aren't attempting the same. For rounds where you take precedent as the 'carry', consider playing big earners like Commando, Support, and Demolitions. These two archetypes fill specialist roles, the former making great gains without triple digit eliminations. In cases like this, it helps to target perks that don't require as many Zed kills, like Field Medic or Sharpshooter. Some matches may just have you taking a backseat while a teammate wades into the fire. In every cooperative game, someone gobbles up most of the glory. Ramping up the difficulty may cut into your team's Dosh earnings, but the extra enemies grant more kills and better experience gains.Ĭhoose perks that gain more average experience per match Slashers, for example, will perform quick rolls and leaps to dodge your attacks- It's truly amazing to see in action. Dipping your toes into Suicidal gives the horde new abilities, faster speeds, and shorter tempers. When things get dialed up, don't just expect a lazy health and damage increase for all the Zeds.
